Three Year Olds

  • At Grannies Playcare we are passionate and committed to providing a fun and an inviting, loving and learning environment for your child.  We believe that three year olds are cable of exploring and learning.  Our approach reflects the interest and individual goals for each child.  We are 100% committed to the total developmental needs of the three year old child:  physical, emotional, intellectual, and social.


  • We have adapted our curriculum to the Creative Curriculum.  This innovative and well-designed approved curriculum is in learning centers across the United States, Canada and Australia.  We have a caring and loving teacher, who allows children to choose and engage in self-directed play.  With years of experience, she incorporates small group activities, as well as large group activities. Her program is designed for hands on experiences and explorations to help promote learning through the use of language, music, art, games, storytelling, fine and gross motor activities and cognitive activities.

  • In 1993, “Bright from the Start,” Georgia Pre-Kindergarten program was funded by the Georgia Lottery of Education for 4 and 5 year old children.   The Georgia Pre-Kindergarten program provides an exemplary quality pre-school experience.  The program is FREE and has helped many students throughout Georgia, especially in Camden County.  
  • A totally awesome program, this program helps each of the students in the program to think creatively and to solve problems at her/his own pace. 
  • For a child to participate in this program, the child must be 4 years old on or before September 1st of the given school year.  Program hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the program follows Camden County School’s calendar.
  • The core instructional program, including meals (breakfast, lunch and snack) and extracurricular activities are free.

Here's what do you need "TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN OUR PROGRAM TODAY!  


  •     A copy of your child’s birth certificate.
  •    Proof of Georgia residency.
  •    An updated copy of your child’s immunization records.
  •    A current copy of your child’s ear, eyes, and dental examination


Our certified teachers teach the Creative Curriculum which is used by the Camden County Schools.   Our paraprofessionals are also certified, and our Center is approved and guided by the rules and regulations from “Bright from the Start” state of Georgia’s lottery free Pre-Kindergarten program.

After School Program & Transportation

  • Other discovery activities such as weather safety, recognizing what to do when no one is home, staying away from strangers (stranger-danger), stop, drop, and roll if there is a fire,  personal hygiene, when to dial 411, pet and animal care, and the dangers of other animals, as well as, other important information students need to know to be safe and successful.  


  •   Homework help is always available!  


  • Enrolling a child in the EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM and SCHOOL HOLIDAYS is easy because we take DROP-INS, too!  Just pick up an enrollment packet for each child and return it to the Director or Assistant Director at Grannies Playcare.

We are proud of our extended day care staff.  They are certified in FIRST AID and CPR, Fire Safety, and have taken other staff development classes, such as, small group and large group activities, literacy, math, computers learning games, and science exploration.   Professional Development classes are an important component of our program for teachers.  Our program believes in personalizing the after school program and activities for EACH individual child.  


Grannies Playcare provides transportation from KINGSLAND ELEMENTARY to our Center, and the Camden County Schools Transportation department provides TRANSPORTATION FROM SUGARMILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL right to Grannies Playcare’s FRONT door.  Call 912-729-1438 or 912-729-1660 to enroll now!! Spring & Summer Camps - Have Openings!!

  • Grannies is proud of its Spring and Summer School Camp Program.  The  spring and summer school teachers plan a camp with lesson plans, and students have plenty opportunities to read, paint, dance, cheer, play bad mitten, and horse shoes, put together puzzles, enjoy fourth of July activities, cook, make crafts, and go on field trips.


  • Groups are also taken on various walking tours for exploration activities, and field trips to the different parks in the county.  These include, Kingsland City Park, Howard Peeples Park. Crooked River State Park.


  • Speakers from the Library from the Camden County visits and reads books to the students, and students are given an opportunity to visit the Camden Library.


  • Student Future Educators of America volunteers come in and read to students and play sports and activity games with the students. 


  • There are many favorite zones at Grannies.  One of the places includes the huge playground area in the back with two swings, a slide, a merry-go round, basketball and goal, and extra place for kick ball field, a car, tricycles, and merry-go-around.


  • Another favorite spot is dramatic play, manipulative art, sand and water, and reading and puppet centers.  


In the Summer and Spring:

Picnics and wading pools in the playground area are a lot of fun. Students always tell us Grannies playground is “totally awesome”.
